I wanted to try out the iPhone camera trick outdoors so I used the Portland Convention Center towers. Looking at the pictures on the phone itself I didn’t think it worked, but when I saw them larger I noticed the curvature of the towers. (The pictures themselves are not anything great, but it’s a cool trick I hope to make use of later.)

I learned about a pretty cool trick you can do with the iPhone camera. Because of the sensor captures the image if you pan the camera during the exposure it can create so odd results. I tested this out …

I was in Portland OR doe a conference this week and had a little free time so I went to see the AAA Portland Beavers take on the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. I sat in my seat for the first inning, then spent the rest of the game walking around and taking pictures.

The ballpark has a tall left field wall similar to Fenway’s Green Monster. This is the view from the seats atop the wall.

They also have a manual scoreboard. This is what it looks like behind the scenes as the operator waits for the next pitch.

The center field wall also has a small balcony that hangs out over the field. It give you an odd view of the lineups as well as a bit of vertigo.
