I stumbled on this monument while wandering down Longley Road in Groton, MA and learned where the road got it’s name.
The inscription reads:
"Near this spot dwelt William and Deliverance Longley with their eight children
On the 27th day of July 1694 the Indians killed the father and the mother and five of the children and carried into captivity the other three"

Swampy Reflections
I pass this spot every day on the way to work. Each time I see something that makes me want to stop. Today’s was my first attempt to capture it.
The results were so-so until I looked at this one differently.
